Oshkosh Defense Awarded $23 Million Delivery Order for LVSR Replacements
Oshkosh Defense has received a delivery order worth more than $23 million from Marine Corps System Command for more than 55 Logistics Vehicle System Replacements (LVSR).
April 16, 2009 — Oshkosh Defense has received a delivery order from Marine Corps System Command (MARCORSYSCOM) for more than 55 Logistics Vehicle System Replacements (LVSR). The delivery order is worth more than $23 million and also includes delivery of 30 LVSR weapons mount kits. The LVSR variant produced under this delivery order will be the cargo truck. The delivery order was issued under an indefinite-delivery / indefinite-quantity contract with MARCORSYSCOM from 2006 for up to 1,700 LVSRs.
The Oshkosh LVSR will be used by the U.S. Marine Corps for the on- and off-road transportation of heavy payloads, such as munitions, fuel, water and heavy equipment. It comes in three variants – cargo, wrecker and fifth-wheel – and features an on-road payload capacity of 22.5 tons and an off-road payload capacity of 16.5 tons.
