Larry and Sheila Misselhorn have built their collection of antiques and collectibles over the last two decades. Now they have teamed with United Country – Wallingford Group to offer that eclectic collection to the public via online auction.

The event is going on now through Feb. 8 and features Civil War collectibles, militaria, petroliana, baseball memorabilia, a 1936 Rolls Royce, a 1947 Chevy fire truck and ownership of the historic Commercial Hotel in Ironton, Mo. Civil War and militaria items include: tin type of Union soldier, bullets, etc.; Lee Robinson Western saddle w/tack and other Western saddle & tack; Leather scabbards and quality field & stream paraphernalia - Cowboy hats, boots, spurs, whips, etc.

Larry has worked over 25 years as a greensman on such Hollywood films as A River Runs Through It, Secretariat, and Walk the Line. This has been one of a number of sources from which the Misselhorns accumulated the antiques and collectibles that form their collection.

“This auction is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Jason Wallingford, broker and owner of United Country – Wallingford Group. “The enormity of this collection of historic and collectible items is above and beyond the normal scale of auction events of this kind. So much so, that this is just the first in a series of events we are presenting to liquidate the Misselhorn’s Estate.”

The historic property up for bid served the majority of its life as the Commercial Hotel (built in 1906) until it was transformed into the Wrangler Sportswear Store in 1977. It has been Glory Days Antiques for the last 10 years. The building has undergone renovation since the Misselhorns purchased the property in 2001. The layout is conducive to providing multiple income opportunities.

In April, Wallingford Group will offer the storied T.R. Goulding Castle, and a collection of antique furniture and statuary at online auction. The Misselhorns have owned the castle since the late 1990s.
