For paratrooper training purposes large numbers of unmodified Type-11s were used between 1946 and 1950. Here in 1948 members of the Army Airborne School in Pau pose wearing mainly pre-war Type-11s and what are apparently a couple of prototype “M50” training helmets. Some wear post-1943 Polaroid-type rubber and plastic goggles or early European clones.

A stern-looking African campaign veteran after the incorporation of the RKB into the National Socialist “Reichskriegerbund” veterans’ group. He wears a medal bar, wound badge and lanyard on his colonial force’s tunic, a NS RKB shield patch on his lower left sleeve, a standard Nazi party brassard on his upper left sleeve, all topped off with a wide brimmed cap unique to his group.
