Twenty unexploded bombs were found last week in Clarke County, Mississippi by a crew digging a trench to lay a natural gas pipeline.
The Meridian Star reported that authorities believe the bombs were left over from a training and bombing range located on the site during World War II.
The bombs were about 18 inches long and badly rusted. According to the county sheriff, they were used in training to mark targets for aircraft, emitting white smoke when exploded.
They were removed safely.
