Legislation (H.B. 506) allows a vehicle built for the United States armed forces to be registered and operated on public highways in Idaho, even if such vehicle does not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards. Currently, many military surplus vehicles were not designed to meet these standards and cannot be legally registered in the state. The bill passed the House and the Senate. The bill now goes to the Governor.
