TORONTO _ NKAS Armored Vehicle Manufacturing announced a new Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to join its fleet of special-purpose vehicles. This new vehicle – named the Hudson – has been specifically designed for SWAT, law enforcement and border patrol agencies, offering a reliable as well as compact solution for secure personnel transportation. Based on a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 platform, the vehicle ensures a high level of maneuverability while transporting up to eight passengers and one turret operator.

Designed to serve in extreme climate conditions, the Hudson APC has an auxiliary air conditioning system as well as exhaust fan for quick ventilation and air re-circulation. Supported by a 4.5L diesel V-8 and five-speed manual transmission, the new Hudson APC is characterized by a high level of off-road performance and maneuverability, even in crowd-control situations where clearance and mobility is limited. In order to meet transportation regulations of various countries, the Hudson APC is offered in both left-hand-drive as well as right-hand-drive configurations.

This INKAS Hudson APC is fully armored in accordance with CEN 1063 Level BR6. The vehicle’s perimeter, engine bay and key mechanical components are protected with composite light-weight armor materials that weigh half of what industry-standard armor plates of the same size weigh.
