Three killed, 6 injured when WWII bomb explodes
Disposal experts were preparing to defuse it
Three people were killed and six were injured Tuesday in central Germany when a World War II bomb exploded as disposal experts were about to defuse it. Of the six injured, two were serious.
According to Reuters, the bomb went off unexpectedly in the university town of Goettingen. Thousands of residents had already been evacuated as experts prepared to defuse the 500 kg bomb.
WWII bombs are regularly defused in Germany without incident.
