The Polish Museum of America (PMA) and the Polish Military History Society of America (PMHSA) are organizing a military themed tour of Poland in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the German invasion at the start of WWII.

This year’s events are scheduled for Sept. 12-13 with a second reenactment the following weekend, Sept. 19-20 in Tomaszow Lubelskich in southeastern Poland.

The trip will be 12 days with a visit to the Warsaw region and the vicinity of Zamosc in southeastern Poland, their military museums and historic fortifications, and two reenactments.

Since 2003 there has been a reenactment of the Battle of the Bzura, the Polish counterattack launched to “open the way to Warsaw” for the Pomorze and Poznan Armies during the first weeks of the German invasion. Featured in the reenactments are German and Polish units with equipment.

There will also be a mounted and dismounted drill by the Polish cavalry squadron of the Guard unit of the Regular Army.

For information about the reenactment, visit Most of the site is in Polish, but some individual societies have a British flag, indicating English text. There are lots of pictures and some videos.
