Cordier Auctions will hold a multi-estate auction in Harrisburg, Pa., on Feb. 1. Highlights of the sale include an unusual Flintlock Contract Musket, a large collection of Native American pottery, thousands of Native American stone tools, and aviation collectibles. The auction will be held in the company’s auction house located at 1500 Paxton St. in Harrisburg.

The Saturday auction will begin with the Estate of Ernest P. Hoppes of Tamaqua, Pa. Hoppes was a longtime collector of Native American items, antique firearms, and hunting and fishing memorabilia.

The Native American collection will include over 50 pieces of Mississippian Pottery featuring a Jeddito corrugated pot, a Northwest Coast Carved Bone Spoon, steatite pipes, and thousands of stone tools including mortars and pestles, axes, celts, and arrowheads including framed.

Sixty antique and modern rifles and handguns will be offered. The featured lot will be a W.L. Evans Model 1816 US Flintlock Musket, manufactured in Valley Forge in 1833. It is one of 1,500 made.

The auction will include military collectibles from the Estate of John W. Hoban of Orwigsburg, Pa. Hoban was a United States Air Force mechanic during the Korean War. Featured lots include two first model WWII German Luftwaffe Daggers and an Engraved WWII Era K-98 Dress Bayonet.

Also featured will be Aviation memorabilia from the Estate of John W. Abiuso, past owner of Abiuso Aviation in New Cumberland, Pa. Collectibles include local aerials and aircraft books, manuals and ephemera.
