Shipley sale features Civil, Spanish American War artifacts

A Shipley Public Auction by Phil Thompson auctioneers will be held June 16 in Cable, Ohio. Selling in auction will be items from the late David R Collins- Clark County, Ohio. Collins was a former Springfield city law director, historian, past owner of the 1828 Hunt House (currently The Simon Kenton Inn) and a “hoarder” extraordinaire.

Indian Artifacts: Selling first, stone pcs. including nice grooved axe, limestone pipe, several flint types, slate ornaments, all from the Mad River Valley – Clark, Champaign, & Logan Counties;

Antique Bottles: large collection of great bottles including: fine Bitters, historical flasks, Barber bottles, (4) rare fruit jars + 30 add’l fruit jar types, labeled bitters & medicines, early sodas & beers, 90 milk bottles, early pontiled glass storage jars w/ tin lids; Urbana, Spfld, Dayton, Cinci, & N.Ky.bottles.
